Global Real Estate Project of the Year Winner

June 10, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that BMSI was the Global Real Estate Project of the Year Winner at the Schneider Electric Masters Expert Event!

Our Deputy Managing Director, Chris Reid, attended, and this award is a true honour for our entire team's hard work and dedication. This award celebrates our outstanding project at 105 Victoria, delivered for our fantastic client, Skanska.

This project stands out as a brilliant showcase of what is possible with innovation and sustainability in London, aiming to be the UK's largest 100% electric, net-zero carbon office building. We are proud to have contributed to its success, showcasing how advanced Building Management Systems are integral to creating high-performance, sustainable environments.

A massive thank you to Schneider Electric for this recognition and for hosting such an insightful Master's Expert Event, bringing together industry leaders to drive sustainable innovation. And a huge shout-out to Skanska, this win is just as much yours. Here's to continuing to deliver excellence and shape the future of smart, sustainable buildings!

The Significance of Our Award-Winning Project

The 105 Victoria project represents a significant milestone in sustainable building design and operation. Our work on this project highlights the profound impact that well-designed and implemented Building Management Systems (BMS) can have on a building's environmental performance and operational efficiency. BMS plays a central role in large, complex structures, acting as the intelligent core that coordinates various mechanical and electrical systems.

This central intelligence constantly monitors and controls the building’s equipment, gathering data from sensors and using sophisticated algorithms to make informed decisions about system operation. This holistic approach ensures optimal comfort for occupants while significantly minimising energy consumption and operational costs.

How BMS Contributes to Net-Zero Goals

Achieving a net-zero carbon footprint for a large office building requires a concerted effort across all aspects of its design, construction, and ongoing operation. Our Building Management Systems are at the forefront of this effort, enabling precise control and optimisation of energy usage.

Driving Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings

One of the most compelling advantages of a robust BMS is its capacity to deliver substantial energy efficiency and cost savings. By consistently monitoring energy usage and fine-tuning system operations, a BMS can pinpoint areas of energy waste and implement corrective measures.

This might involve refining heating and cooling schedules, preventing simultaneous heating and cooling, or pinpointing faulty equipment that consumes excessive energy. Over time, these adjustments accumulate, leading to significant reductions in energy bills and a lower carbon footprint for the building. For a project like 105 Victoria, these savings are not only financial but also deeply aligned with its ambitious sustainability targets.

Creating Comfortable and Productive Environments

A well-implemented BMS contributes significantly to creating comfortable and productive indoor environments. By precisely managing temperature, humidity, and ventilation, a BMS ensures that occupants experience comfort throughout the building. This is particularly important in large buildings where different areas may have varying needs and occupancy patterns. A high-performing BMS can zone the building, providing tailored conditions to different spaces and adjusting them automatically as required. This not only enhances well-being but can also positively influence productivity and satisfaction.

This joined-up approach leads to smarter and more responsive building performance, which is crucial for a building striving for net-zero. We have extensive experience in such Project Installations.

Data-Driven Decisions and Continuous Improvement

A valuable aspect of many Building Management Systems is their ability to generate reports and provide detailed analysis of energy consumption and system performance. This information is incredibly useful for building managers, helping them identify trends, pinpoint areas for further improvement, and verify the effectiveness of energy-saving measures. This data can also be used to benchmark the building’s performance against similar structures and track progress towards sustainability goals.

Our Sustain Energy Platform offers cutting-edge capabilities in this area.
