Tim Peperell hits the road for NHS Heroes!

BMSI’S Major Projects Sales Manager, Tim Peperell, is getting back in the saddle in aid of our NHS Heroes.

 

Cycling 200 miles in just three days, Tim, alongside friends and colleagues from the Construction Industry will be riding across Cornwall to raise funds for the incredible dedication and hard work of the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Ready to kick off the ride today, which traverses the entire Cornish peninsula, Tim is thankful to be raising money for such a worthy cause:

 

Since March, our entire lives have changed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Living in lockdown has meant tremendous change for the way we live and work, causing stress and uncertainty across the board. The work undertaken by our amazing NHS has been truly outstanding. Fighting this crisis from the frontline, NHS workers have continuously put themselves in danger and under great pressure in order to keep us all safe – how we can we ever begin to truly repay them?

 

Cycling 200 miles seems like a small task to endure in comparison, and if we can help to raise much-needed  funds to support this essential work, then I am proud and delighted to be a part of it.”

 

This event has been organised in collaboration with the 11 Foundation which was founded by former Chelsea and England footballer Joe Cole and his wife Carly. Joe, along with a few of his former teammates Wayne Bridge and Steve Sidwell, will be joining Tim and the rest of the cyclists on the ride.

BMSI support CBRE in charity race-night success!

This month BMSI were delighted to support our valued customer, CBRE in their efforts to raise money for the community via a virtual race night.

 

The initiative was a virtual racing event organised to raise a charitable fund for the local community. BMSI donated a Google Nest to the collection of prizes, which helped to raise over £4,000 toward very worthy cause.

 

BMSI Support Services Director, Keith Bankier, commented:

All of the funds raised from this fantastic event were put directly back into the local community and we are always delighted to support CBRE with these efforts.”

BMSI employees create innovative training initiatives during lockdown

BMSI staff have shown impressive ingenuity during the current crisis and have developed new educational programmes to train and assist virtual teams.

 

Despite some staff being on furlough, a number of BMSI employees have taken the initiative to use the time to create resources that aim to improve workflows for others. These online training initiatives, delivered via Microsoft Teams, have been so successful that BMSI will continue to use this format in a post-Covid-19 environment.

 

Instrumental in the development of these schemes, were Chris Baldwin and Paul Ferris, who are now working to ensure that this support is readily available and accessible for the entire team to utilise.

 

Media platforms have allowed BMSI staff to keep in touch with each other as well as abreast of what is developing in the outside world. Training and education have been the primary focus across the past few months and some great training sessions have been created. We are delighted that these are now available to the entire BMSI team.”

BMSI Awarded Exclusive Support Contract with leading Broadcaster

BMSI’s Support Division have been awarded a major new Support contract for a leading UK broadcaster, covering the company’s entire portfolio of buildings across the UK.

 

The contract, which was won via one of our major trading partners, encompasses 54 buildings in total, including major sites across London, Salford, Cardiff and Glasgow.

 

This extensive range of sites have various BEMS installed, including Trend, Siemens and Honeywell. This emphasises one of BMSI’s major strengths in the marketplace; our ability to support a diverse range of manufacturer’s equipment.

BMSI continue innovative work at 52 Lime St

Since its completion, BMSI have continued to be hard at work on The Scalpel; a prominent addition to the most distinguished skyline in the city.

Originally working for Skanska on the development, BMSI provided a full Trend/Tridium BMS and Energy Management System. Comprising 80-plus control panels across the entire site and a building-wide EMS system operating from roof to basement, the BMS consists of approximately 20,000 points and an energy management system networked to over 1000 meters across the 41 floors.

Following completion of the development in 2018, BMSI have continued to work with various contractors, and to date have completed 32 of the 35 floors to CAT A and CAT B standard. These projects have been extremely fast moving to ensure that occupancy can keep apace with tenant demand for these spaces.

In addition, and as part of BMSI’s innovative support offering, 52 Lime Street is remotely connected to our Bureau in Warrington. BMSI’S Remote Monitoring Centre carries out continual diagnostics checks and amendments to the working environment and provides accurate energy data analysis to our client in real-time.

BCIA 2020 Finalist:

 

BMSI is honoured to have been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2020 Building Controls Industry Awards in the Energy Management Award.

 

The BCIA Awards have been recognising outstanding innovations, effectual project delivery and advanced product development across the controls and BEMS industry for many years and we are thrilled to announce that our work in helping Heathrow Airport to successfully lower their carbon footprint has been recognised by the panel for this year’s Energy Management Award.

BMSI mark 100,000 days RIDDOR free

BMSI are delighted to announce some positive news, February saw us pass the milestone of 100,000 man days worked since a RIDDOR reportable accident!

 

During the month of February there was only one reported minor incident that required minimal treatment. There were zero near misses reported.

 

As a responsible employer, BMSI employ innovative solutions to the lone worker problem to ensure that the safety of our employees is always at the forefront of our company ethos. As a result, the system that we now employ is at the technological forefront, ensuring staff safety across all of our sites.

“In the midst of these unprecedented times, it is uplifting for our team to be able to mark 100,000 days of being RIDDOR free.
