BMSI Secure BMS Contract for Iconic Scalpel building

BMSI have secured the ongoing support of the BMS and EMS at The Scalpel; the newest addition to the most distinguished skyline in the city.

This iconic building, located at 52 Lime Street, was a prestigious win for the BMSI major projects team, and now, through the hard work of our support team and innovative MediCentre technology, we are delighted to have secured a 3 year contract with CBRE for the project.

BMSI National Support Sales Manager, Jen Johnson, has been working hard on bringing the contract into fruition and commented:

“We have been pushing the boundaries with CBRE, specifically over the past 9 months, to engage with our MediCentre technology, attending speed networking, innovation days and generally showing them the benefits of our new range of solutions – and it is great to see that this hard work has really paid off.

The Scalpel is an extensive site with a staggering 952 submeters throughout! And we have utilised a mixture of weekly engineer visits, proactive energy management via Medic and reactive remote support to create a support solution meeting all of the clients requirements. This is a fantastic project to work on and we’re very much looking forward to really showing off with what we can deliver on it.”

BMSI’s Aviation Customer’s win big at Windsor Racecourse!

BMSI’s race night proved to be a rip-roaring success for the Aviation division’s customer base, and saw generous charitable donations from the team.

Taking place last month at Windsor Racecourse, the event was attended by a selection of clients from BMSI’s Aviation division and included a competitive betting competition that got everyone clamouring for the winning position.

Benefiting from the great weather and atmosphere on the night, BMSI Director, James Smith was delighted with the success of the evening:

“We had a really great night at Windsor Racecourse with our Aviation customers. The event was an outstanding success and we were very lucky with the weather, and the picturesque venue. Everyone who attended  came with such a great energy, which really aided the enjoyment of the entire evening.

The race competition was won by Sean McConyway from Dornan Engineering and the winning prize of £100 was matched by BMSI to be donated to a charity of Sean’s choice. The momentum was so positive during the night that the consortium bet from many of those attending was also very generously donated to the charity!”

BMSI’s Tim Peperell to Cycle 300 miles for Action Medical Research!

BMSI are delighted to be supporting BMSI Sales Manager, Tim Peperell, as he takes on the amazing feat of cycling from London to Brussel’s in aid of Action Medical Research.

Tim will be joining other likeminded fund-raisers from the construction industry to raise money for the UK-wide charity, who’s work helps to save, and drastically change, children’s lives through their extensive medical research.

The challenge is a massive one, and one that Tim isn’t taking lightly:

“It’s going to be a long and difficult challenge to complete, but this will ultimately be helping sick and vulnerable babies to have better lives because of the ground-breaking research that AMR fund – and it is this knowledge that will inevitably keep me going through the tougher parts of the ride.

I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for AMR and my target is £2,000, so any help and support for the cause would be greatly appreciated!”

Action Medical Research, the charity for which Tim has chosen to fundraise for, are appreciative of Tim’s efforts, commenting:

“Today in the UK, there are hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled babies, children and young people who need our help.  At Action Medical Research we fund desperately needed research to tackle the diseases that devastate the lives of so many of our children.  With Tim, and his fundraisers, help, we can save and change children’s lives.”

Starting at the Olympic Velodrome in London in just under 3 weeks’ time, Tim will be riding amongst 100 riders for the duration of the 5 day-long, gruelling challenge, which will end at the picturesque Palais de Bruxelles. We are incredibly proud of all of Tim’s efforts in this endeavour and encourage people to donate generously by visiting his fundraising page here.

BMSI Score High on Quality and Creativity in “Excellent” Client Recommendation

BMSI have been applauded by The City of Edinburgh Council for the quality of our work and attention to detail following a successful BMS upgrade at St Andrews Bus Depot.

BMS Project Manager, Alan Anderson, was full of praise for the team, noting in particular the high quality service that BMSI were able to provide:

“During the 2 years our company has been working with BMSI on numerous different kinds of projects, we can say that we have always been satisfied by the high quality of their work.

Working on the St Andrews Bus Depot pointed out the concern for quality and attention to detail that the company has in its locker. The Project was successfully delivered and made sure all of our required criteria, e.g energy savings, simplified BMS controls set-up and quality installation and associated services, was more than met.

In our opinion it has been the knowledge and the creativity of the company that has resulted in such impressive results.”

Spear-heading the venture was BMSI Projects Manager, Steve Granger, who is delighted with the feedback on the project:

It is not often that client’s take the time out to feedback on projects, so to receive a recommendation as glowing as this one – we’d be daft not to shout about it.

The project at St Andrews Bus Depot was all based on EN15232 demand led strategies including Platform Supply Fans, Public concourse AHU, Variable Temperature space control and DHW tank control.

This project successfully over-delivered on the required criteria in comparison to previous campaigns led by other providers and we are delighted with the response from Alan recommending us for future BeMS/Energy campaigns. We very much look forward to continue working with them in the future.”

Summer Celebrations for the BMSI team!

BMSI staff cheers to an exciting year ahead as the team get together for summer-time drinks in London.

It’s safe to say that everyone in the UK is trying to make the most of the unprecedented sunshine that has befallen us so far this summer – and for the team at BMSI, it was the perfect excuse to get everyone together for a summer-time social in the city.

Taking place last week in central London, members of the Projects and Support teams came together to celebrate a great year so far at BMSI, and toast to an even more successful rest of 2018.

Tasked with rallying the troops for the event, BMSI Regional Manager for London, Mark Stewart, was delighted with the turn-out:

“It was great to see such a brilliant attendance at the summer social in London last week. As we all generally work in isolation on site, it was a good opportunity  to get everyone together in one place, and for the Projects and Support teams to mix and socialise.

We’ve had a busy year so far, and everyone has been working really hard to drive the business forward, so it’s nice to reward that with some down-time and have a chance to catch up with everyone in a relaxed setting – of course, the sunshine is also a massive bonus!”

BMSI’s Medic platform gets the thumbs up in sunny Scotland!

It’s not just the sun that has got BMSI’s Scottish based clients smiling this summer, our innovative web-based energy management platform Medic is also ticking all the boxes as our customers are tasked in dealing with the unprecedented UK heat wave.

Visiting valued clients in Glasgow this week, National Support Sales Manager, Jen Johnson was delighted with the feedback surrounding a new contract mobilisation that has seen the utilisation of the Medic building analytics package.

Jen, who was also able to take the above photo of an uncharacteristically sunny Glasgow whilst visiting the city, was thrilled with the response from clients:

“The feedback from Glasgow this week has been fantastic and a real boost for our hard working support and sales team. We really believe in the progressive work that the Medic application is providing for our clients and we don’t shout about it enough!

By utilising our buildings analytics package, we have supported the client in achieving their KPI’s and assisted them in tackling some of the issues that this beautiful weather has highlighted. A massive well done to the local team here, they’re delighted to have helped make a difference.”
