Support Business Development team celebrate training success with Junkyard golf fun

BMSI’s Support Business Development team enjoy a successful training day at the BMSI MediCentre, Daresbury, followed by a competitive game of junkyard golf!

National Support Sales Manager, Jen Johnson, who coordinated the training event, was delighted with the outcome:

“The technical training we held at Daresbury was a superb opportunity for us to run through the fundamentals of energy management and building analytics with the team and why it is so important that we can support our customers in these areas.

Most importantly, we discussed how our MediBox and Medic solution can provide real-time monitoring and analysis, reducing ongoing support costs for our customers and highlighting significant energy savings.  What really capped off the day however, was the surprise win by Midlands Development Manager Ben Summers during junkyard golf, with a rather depleted Keith Bankier and Allan Tannock bringing up the rear!”

Taking place at BMSI’s MediCentre in Daresbury, which is the central hub for remote activity and technology at BMSI, the Sales Support team enjoyed a fully-immersive day of training, combining both projects and support elements to further develop their understanding of energy management and building analytics.

Following a fulfilling day of developing their skills and knowledge, the team then enjoyed an evening playing junkyard golf in Manchester city centre, alongside dinner and drinks.

Project Sales role – Scotland

BMSI delighted with Samsung win

The BMSI major projects team have been awarded the contract for the Samsung Retail Store at Coal Drops Yard.

Located in the heart of King’s Cross, boasting a picturesque canal-side setting, Victorian architecture and surrounded by newly designed public squares, Coal Drops Yard brings something entirely different to London’s retail and leisure scene.

BMSI will be installing a Trend IQ4 system with IQVision front end supervisor, and whilst this is a retail space, it has the plant specification of a main building.

BMSI Director James Smith, is thrilled with the win and discusses the complexities of the project here:

“This is an ideal venture for BMSI to be involved in and joins a long list of high-profile projects for the team this year.

The space at Coal Drops Yard has the added difficultly of its suspended structure and open ceilings, resulting in services not being shared by the two halves, effectively requiring two systems. This is a challenging venture, but one that BMSI are very much looking forward to taking on at full speed, and welcome many more in its wake.”

Big Win for BMSI Major Projects at One Crown Place!

The BMSI major projects team have been awarded the contract for the Shell & Core BMS of One Crown Place.

The premium site, which is comprised of existing period buildings, with two new residential towers offering 246 apartments, features 15,500sqm of high-quality office space and a variety of retail space at ground level. Additionally, the boutique hotel and members’ club occupy the elegant row of Georgian terraces on Sun Street, making the prestigious location a striking mixed-used development in the heart of the capital city.

Securing the contract for One Crown Place has been an especially important win for the Major Projects team at BMSI, as Director James Smith explains:

“This is a long-awaited success for BMSI and one we’re proud to shout about. The tender process for this project began with MACE MEP back in August 2017 was only concluded in early 2019 with MJL appointing BMSI for the £1.2M contract.

The scope of work on the entire project will take us through three Christmas’ together, and by working alongside Mace we’re confident of delivering on yet another high-profile contract, plus welcoming many more projects of this scale in its wake.”
