BMSI’s Aviation Customer’s win big at Windsor Racecourse!

BMSI’s race night proved to be a rip-roaring success for the Aviation division’s customer base, and saw generous charitable donations from the team.

Taking place last month at Windsor Racecourse, the event was attended by a selection of clients from BMSI’s Aviation division and included a competitive betting competition that got everyone clamouring for the winning position.

Benefiting from the great weather and atmosphere on the night, BMSI Director, James Smith was delighted with the success of the evening:

“We had a really great night at Windsor Racecourse with our Aviation customers. The event was an outstanding success and we were very lucky with the weather, and the picturesque venue. Everyone who attended  came with such a great energy, which really aided the enjoyment of the entire evening.

The race competition was won by Sean McConyway from Dornan Engineering and the winning prize of £100 was matched by BMSI to be donated to a charity of Sean’s choice. The momentum was so positive during the night that the consortium bet from many of those attending was also very generously donated to the charity!”

BMSI Celebrate being Shortlisted for the Energy Awards 2018!

BMSI have been recognised by the Energy Awards in the prestigious Energy Data Collection and Analysis Category – and suffice to say, the entire team is thrilled to be shortlisted.

The award, which recognises the importance of monitoring and targeting, metering and measuring energy use, has shortlisted BMSI’s PFI School Energy Optimisation project due to its innovative and effective way of meeting the clients objectives.

BMSI National Support Sales Manager, Jen Johnson, is thrilled to be celebrating the announcement with the team:

“We’re extremely proud that this project has been recognised by the Energy Awards 2018. The project was so successful due to our ability to address the situation as a whole, utilise existing technology in a more unique way and analyse the variety of data available to us via the BeMS – allowing us to put together an energy strategy that was beneficial both to the client and the environment.

To be nominated solidifies BMSI as a recognised industry leader, allows us to share our developments as a business and to celebrate our achievements as a team – so, roll on December!”

The Energy Awards 2018 will take place on the 5th December at London Hilton, Park Lane will bring together an audience of over 500 industry heavyweights to recognise and celebrate the very best achievements in the industry.

BMSI Score High on Quality and Creativity in “Excellent” Client Recommendation

BMSI have been applauded by The City of Edinburgh Council for the quality of our work and attention to detail following a successful BMS upgrade at St Andrews Bus Depot.

BMS Project Manager, Alan Anderson, was full of praise for the team, noting in particular the high quality service that BMSI were able to provide:

“During the 2 years our company has been working with BMSI on numerous different kinds of projects, we can say that we have always been satisfied by the high quality of their work.

Working on the St Andrews Bus Depot pointed out the concern for quality and attention to detail that the company has in its locker. The Project was successfully delivered and made sure all of our required criteria, e.g energy savings, simplified BMS controls set-up and quality installation and associated services, was more than met.

In our opinion it has been the knowledge and the creativity of the company that has resulted in such impressive results.”

Spear-heading the venture was BMSI Projects Manager, Steve Granger, who is delighted with the feedback on the project:

It is not often that client’s take the time out to feedback on projects, so to receive a recommendation as glowing as this one – we’d be daft not to shout about it.

The project at St Andrews Bus Depot was all based on EN15232 demand led strategies including Platform Supply Fans, Public concourse AHU, Variable Temperature space control and DHW tank control.

This project successfully over-delivered on the required criteria in comparison to previous campaigns led by other providers and we are delighted with the response from Alan recommending us for future BeMS/Energy campaigns. We very much look forward to continue working with them in the future.”

BMSI & Skanska take on iconic Scalpel Project

BMSI are hard at work on The Scalpel; the newest addition to the most distinguished skyline in the city.

BMSI are working for Skanska on this latest prestigious development, located in the City on the corner of Lime Street. The new luxury high-rise building, as named by the Financial Times, will stand at 38 storeys tall and will house the new European Headquarters for W. R. Berkley. Remaining commercial space will also be let by other finance-based organisations, high-end retail outlets and premium eatery’s; securing the building’s place amongst many other large-scale, iconic buildings that continue to add to BMSI’s extensive list of City of London based projects.

BMSI has provided a full Trend/Tridium BMS and Energy Management System, comprising 80-plus control panels across the entire site and a building-wide EMS system operating from roof to basement. The BMS consists of approximately 20,000 points and an energy management system networked to over 1000 meters across the 41 floors.

BMSI Project Manager, Tony Springer, who has been overseeing the project commented:

“This is a great project that BMSI are proud to be involved with. The already- iconic status of the building is matched by the range and diversity of the work involved for the development, which will see our team provide, install and commission an efficient EMS that will ensure preventative energy maintenance rather than providing a reactive solution.

As the project nears its completion in the Summer of 2018, this is a venture that BMSI have very much enjoyed working on and we welcome many more projects on this scale in its wake.”
