Job Description:

BMSI continues to go from strength to strength as the UK’s leading independent building controls company and with the New Year fast approaching, we are excited at what lies ahead in 2020 and the prospect of partnering Heathrow Airport with its ambitious growth plans, with specific reference to upgrading Terminal 3’s BMS system.

We will not be able to support Heathrow’s commercial development without recruiting personnel who are skilled in the following professions who will join our established team based at our office on the A4 near the entrance to the Airport and at our office in Windsor:

Project Manager (Heathrow)
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned BMS projects are completed in accordance within agreed budgetary and time constraints.

This is a challenging position that should appeal to people who:

  • have previously worked for a BMS/Trend Systems house
  • can assist in design development, programming and overall project cost control
  • have had experience in a similar role
  • are familiar with the Trend/Honeywell product range
  • have strong negotiation skills
  • have experience of managing others effectively

Commissioning/Applications Engineer (Heathrow)

We are looking for somebody who will be expected to commission, co-ordinate and complete the installation of BMS systems and to manage small BMS projects from order received to completion.

This role will include for small projects “start to finish”, design, documentation, implementation, software generation & commissioning of the complete controls solution, to specification / design.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with panel wiring and schematic diagrams, be an effective communicator with colleagues, contractors and customers, and have a broad understanding of the Trend product range, as well as having a proven track record of excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Software Engineer (Windsor)

Working in conjunction with the design and project engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of a BMS Controls strategy for Trend based Building Management Systems.  This would include strategy for both the Trend IQ4E controllers, Trend TONN open protocol controllers and integration with third parties via BACnet, Modbus, Mbus etc.  Working from the system specifications and descriptions of operations, the Software Engineer will produce software to the design specifications and in line with the company’s standards. The successful candidate will also be involved in the FAT testing and proving of strategy.

This particular role will be suitable to people who have significant and relevant experience of writing BMS controls software and strategy and will have proven ability writing software for Trend systems.

Design Engineer (Windsor)

The Design Engineer will be expected to develop a BMS system in accordance with the clients’ requirements and budgetary limitations by assisting with the production of project documentation and to support the installation, testing and commissioning stages of the system.  Must have a good knowledge of how the mechanical plant will interact with the overall control system.  How the BMS networks are designed and developed, including any high-level interfacing that maybe required.

The ideal candidate must have considerable experience in similar role, able to work unsupervised and confidently in a commercially orientated environment.

Graphics Engineer (Windsor)

We are looking for a Graphics Engineer who will be able to draw and engineer high quality schematic diagrams for a number of BMS systems as instructed by our Design Manager.  Primarily the schematic diagrams would be on the Trend IQ Vision platform and experience in this would be advantageous, as well as experience in Niagra and Tridium.

This particular role will be of interest to people who have had previous experience of drawing schematic diagrams in a commercial environment, but not necessarily in the Building Controls industry, but utilising the Niagra and Tridium platform as a minimum. That said, the successful candidate will still need to demonstrate that they have been able to operate successfully by achieve objectives within challenging time constraints.
