BEMS Bureau Engineers

BMSi see a Bureau Engineer to fulfill a key role in our Controls Bureau, delivering propositions which will maximise on our innovative approach to monitoring.

Overview

  • British Gas, rated 17th in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies, is part of Centrica, a Top 30 FTSE 100 company
  • Location: Slough, with occasional travel to other locations

The Role


Reporting to the Bureau Manager, you will:-

  • Manage, action, investigate and report alarms generated by the numerous BMS systems and bespoke monitoring software
  • Remotely offer support to internal engineers and customers of all levels
  • Respond to BMS and prediction generated alarms
  • Control the building environment/energy management strategy to agreed parameters
  • Manage assets to ensure maximum life cycles are achieved
  • Respond effectively to critical business failures
  • Logical fault finding and rectification, utilising manufacturer's software to remotely interrogate customer buildings
  • Track and report key system metrics

The Person

  • Knowledge of building services and HVAC applications
  • Operating knowledge of Satchwell, TAC and/or Trend Building Management Systems is essential
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work loads
  • Computer literacy with the aptitude to quickly learn bespoke software
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to react effectively to incoming alarms /requests from numerous sources (automatic software generated alarms and verbal communication)
  • Adaptable to change in a growing and evolving environment
  • Strong numerical back ground and excellent mathematical skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, this role will involve working with a wide variety of people both internal and externally

Energy Bureau Data Analyst

BMSi seek an Energy Bureau Analyst to assist in the build, operation and evolution of energy service solutions, in particular Building controls and Automated Monitoring & Targeting (aM&T technology).

The Role


Reporting to the Bureau Manager, you will:-

  • Operate the system processes for data availability and data quality
  • Act as a key interface with internal departments, suppliers and business customers to provide detailed Energy performance analysis
  • Operate robust data management processes to ensure that data input, processing and tracking meets our service level agreements
  • Track and report on key system metrics for business customer base

The Person

  • Understanding of metering in the gas and/or electric utilities
  • An interest in energy management and energy efficiency
  • Flexible, adaptable and pragmatic approach
  • Able to work and evolve in an ever changing environment
  • Understanding of technical software and measurements would be an advantage. Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt accordingly will be more important
  • Strong numerical skills are essential and understanding of data presentation with the ability to provide information around performance indicators derived from complex data feeds.


BMS Service Engineers

We seek a talented BMS Service Engineers across the UK.


Overview

The Role


Reporting to the Area Manager, you will:-

  • Monitor and manage customer service level agreements, ensuring the BMS system is properly maintained and operating correctly
  • Respond to customer services calls (emergency, on-site, online), checking the indicated points of trouble
  • Diagnose issues and defects, determining correct actions and repairs to the system
  • Ensure optimal system operation through tests and verification of system readings
  • Identify possible energy efficiency improvements and implement accordingly
  • Complete service repairs, replacements, upgrades and calibration systems
  • Perform BMS system commissioning and assist in BMS installation for service installed projects
  • Complete and submit written reports, detailing all aspects of each service visit and activity as well as maintain and update all site files, service reports and customer information.
  • Discuss defects from other systems/components with customers and/or BMSi office to advise best course of action
  • Conduct basic client training on-site or at appropriate locations
  • Deliver technical support, coaching and direction to end users
  • Assist in project profitability through cost containment procedures and processes

The Person


This role requires a knowledge and experience of controls systems, preferably TAC and Trend systems coupled with an excellent customer services approach towards customers.
In your application, please provide evidence of the following:-

  • Experience of Trend and Satchwell systems, although knowledge of other systems would be considered
  • BMS engineer/service experience, however we are willing to provide training for applicants who have a good Building Services knowledge and have the desire to learn and develop their BMS skills
  • Knowledge and experience of BMS control systems, HVAC, electrical concepts and building operations preferred
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering and programming background
  • Experience in programming, job installation, commissioning and fault finding is essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
